Meet the team
Meet our dedicated, experienced and highly qualified team of volunteers who give their free time to help keep the club running. Our teachers have over 150 years of teaching experience between them and are all passionate about helping our swimmers learn to swim and reach their swimming potential.
Anna MylesChairperson / Assistant Chief Coach
Anna joined the club as a junior and after progressing through the club gaining many awards before completing a Level 1 teaching aquatics qualification. Anna became our youngest chairperson at 21 and has since passed her Level 2 teaching qualification.
Don RobinsonSecretary / Teacher
Don started teaching in 1954, with Everton. Don joined the club in approximately 1982 as Chief Coach. He remained as chief coach until 2015 and continues to dedicate his time to the club. Don is our longest and most-established member of the team and offers support to both our swimmers and teachers in their development.
Mark McDonaldChief Coach
Mark has been swimming with the club since he was 5 years old. He swam competitively and played water polo for Merseyside. Mark has been teaching with us for 10 years and is a Level 2 teacher, he has also recently passed his Level 1 coaching qualification.
Tricia has been with the club for approximately 40 years. She joined as an intermediary swimmer and was Chief Coach until 2018. In 2017, she was awarded a lifetime membership by the club.
Tony joined the club when his three children were learning to swim and passed his Level 1 teachers examination in 1998 and has since become a Level 2 teacher.
Emma learned to swim at Woolton Swimming Club as a child. She returned with her own children and has been part of the teaching volunteers ever since. The club has helped Emma achieve her Assistant and Level 2 teaching courses.
Lilian PrevostMembership secretary / Teacher
Lilian joined the club in 1980 and has acted as membership secretary for many years . Lilian has been a Level 1 teacher since 1998 and became a life member of the club in 2015.
Michael joined the club as a youngster and has swum at national level. He is now a Level 2 teacher with the club and is studying a Sports and Teaching degree at Hope University. Michael recently attended Camp America working as Head Lifeguard. He is a Level 2 qualified teacher and Level 1 coach which were achieved with the club's help.
Emily is a member of Great Britain junior water polo team. In 2017, she took part in the European junior water polo championships. The club has recently supported Emily in achieving her Level 1 teaching qualification.
Amy works as a life guard at a hotel chain. In her spare time, she teaches at the club and has been an active member since the age of 4. She has progressed from a beginner swimmer to become our Assistant Chief Coach.
Andrew is used to help younger children overcome their fear of deep water, he is a holder of the Royal Lifesaving Society bronze medallion. He has been a club member since 1990.
